In case you haven’t seen it already, below is the first of a few rather cool happenings taking place down @ 35 Broad st in the next few weeks. We’re not supposed to say anything more about this first communiqué for now, but you know Kev & secrets. Won’t be long before he gets all giddy & shit & he can’t contain himself anymore & you’re all in the know.
If any of the following applies & you’re able to make it on the dates mentioned, send in your info asap & cross your fingers. I’d also stuff a few bills in your wallet before you come ’cause you know Walt wants your cash & a PAID Flanagan is a HAPPY Flanagan.

Have you ever wanted to work in a comic book shop? Silent Bob himself, Kevin Smith, is casting a new television series set in his comic shop “The Secret Stash.” He’s not looking for actors, he’s looking for real people who live and breath the comic book lifestyle. Must be funny outgoing and have a knowledge and passion for comics, superheroes, movie memorabilia and everything that goes with it. Looking for men and women ages 21 – 35 in the Tri-state area only. Must be available in Red Bank, NJ on either June 2nd or June 3rd AND a 3-day shoot on June 14th – 16th. To apply, send a picture and a short bio including name, age, and phone number to email@example.com If you are selected, we will contact you to schedule a follow up interview.
We’re also looking for people in the Tri-state area with cool, unique, rare, or otherwise awesome comic book/movie memorabilia. It’s Pawn Stars for Fanboys, and if you have something to sell/trade/or value, we want you to bring it to us! Must be available in Red Bank, NJ on either June 2nd or June 3rd AND one additional day between June 14th – 16th. To apply, send a picture of yourself, and a description and picture of the item with your name, age, and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are selected, we will contact you to schedule a follow up interview.
I’m only 18 but I would do fucking ANYTHING to be part of this.
This is huge! I hope all you guys feature prominently.
That’s awesome. Congrats, guys.
By listing the age range of the people he wants to work at his business, isn’t that age discrimination?
Kevin Smith, is casting a new television series set in his comic shop “The Secret Stash.
But they’ve written it so that it sounds like he’s casting employees to work at a comic book store (hence the Pawn Stars reference, a reality show about “workers” at a store, not “actors of a certain age” at a store) who just happen to also be filmed while they work.
Yeah, the 2nd sentence says it’s a television show.
That’s awesome, I was getting ready tosend all my info & shit in until I read the tri state area shit
Also Mattchance how the fuck is it age decrimination when the people already working there are in or close to their 40s? its called targeting his demographic dickhole
Doh, on week days! Not a chance for the weekend? Sone of us geeks have full time jobs!
You’re not gonna quit & leave your old life behind for a CHANCE at this kinda’ glory? Where’s the heart, son?
I can use the extra cash but I’m more of a movie/music geek than comics. Which reminds me that my graphic novel is available for sale @ The Secret Stash.
Chris, would that graphic novel happen to be Constellation Park as mentioned on TESD?
Dude, Kev and the guys don’t decide stuff like that. Thats a network decision so stop hating. In their minds young people = energy and “better” looks. Awesome idea though, def sending my info in.
FML – I live in the UK and I’m too old. Ain’t that a bitch! Can’t wait to see the show though, please add tons of you guys telling off Ming!
fuck yes! EPIC! is this a pilot for a cable show or something internet like mydamnchannel.com?
I think you meant to say “live and breathe” and not “live and breath.” Tell Ming the Grammar Police are here!
Dammit! Why did I postpone my trip to NJ? You guys did that on purpose didnt you?
Looking forward for more info… I’m wondering what channel this will be on, if any. Maybe a web-show?
A recent @BryWaltQ tweet hinted that the show, if it happens, will be on the G4 network.
Methinks you read it wrong.
“I’d put my money on G4. But…I’m usually only right 9% of the time” File this under ‘other 91% of the time’
Yep, I read it wrong. It looks like it’s going to be on AMC:
AMC is becoming one of the best networks on cable!
That is super news!!!
Brian I want to say from what I have read on the blog you have a great writing style – very very witty!!! even your normal updates have a touch of panache!!
Cant wait to read what you, walt and quinn write in the future.
You spelled his name wrong. The proper way is ‘Brain’.
Please keep this on cable…got no monies for those fancy channels! Super stoked to hear about this, ‘grats fellas.

Hey, Walt, are you worried about the future of the Stash with the announcement of the DC relaunch? They’re going day and date with digital releases now and Marvel is sure to follow.
Is that Q on the left of the top banner? I’ve never seen him before so forgive me if I’m wrong. Not what I expected after all the hype.
Aww poor Brayn…no one can ever spell his name right.
Seems to me like this could potentially be on the Syfy channel. something orchestrated by the guy that they brought it for the one episode who helped Q get going it Tru. He said he wanted reality shows for Syfy. Also, they are headquartered in NY.
Yay! I can’t wait to watch 🙂
What exactly is your definition of a sell out? Doing live shows and charging for them? Bandcamp? Merch? Taking an opportunity to do something we’d like to try and could potentially bring more listeners to the podcast? If it’s because you think we’re making a bunch of money from this, you my boy are way wrong. My view is that if you pervert the course of what you’re doing and don’t remain true to what YOU want to do in order to secure some sort of gain, you’ve sold out. Since that’s not what we’re doing or plan to do, I disagree with you. Try thinking before you type two words that mean very little without some thought behind them. Maybe you’re not a dummy but your post doesn’t make a strong argument to the contrary.
Haters will hate. You keep slinging your product, I’ll keep buying.

That is awesome news, can’t wait to see the show. 🙂
And all that talk about you being sell-outs, is nothing else than bullshit. You guys have really earned this ! And if you get some cash out of it, awesome, you are totally worth it 🙂
